Tour Description

This tour offers an exclusive opportunity to step inside an authentic Parmigiano Reggiano dairy, followed by an intimate visit to a traditional balsamic vinegar cellar (Acetaia).

Our expert guides will lead you on a captivating sensory journey. You will witness the fascinating 'birth' of Parmigiano Reggiano as fresh wheels are lifted from the copper vats, and discover the quiet art of aging balsamic vinegar within traditional batteries of diverse wood barrels.

For Parmigiano, it will also be possible to visit the salting rooms and the maturing warehouse where the wheels can be “tapped” to assess their quality, as the experts of the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium do.

During the balsamic vinegar tour, you will explore the traditional production areas and get an up-close look at the historic barrel batteries, all while immersed in the vinegar's signature, centuries-old aromas.

At the end of your journey, savor the authentic flavors of our land with a tasting of aged Parmigiano and balsamic vinegar, complemented by the exquisite wines of the Parma hills.

Product tastings and round-trip transportation to and from the facilities, are included.

Restrictions

  • Accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Not suitable for guests with mobility impairments.
  • Children: Strollers are not permitted during the tour.
  • Pets: No pets allowed (hygiene and safety regulations).
  • Diets/Allergies: Veg-friendly. Others (GlutenFree/Vegan) limited. No severe/fatal allergies.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change unexpectedly. To ensure fairness to both our clients and our team, the following cancellation policy applies:

  1. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment

    • Due to the limited notice, cancellations made 24 hours or less before the appointment will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided as it becomes difficult to fill the spot on such short notice.

  2. Cancellations between 48 to 72 hours prior to the scheduled appointment

    • If you need to cancel your appointment between 48 and 72 hours before the scheduled time, a 50% penalty will be charged. You will receive a refund of 50% of the total fee paid. This allows us some time to adjust our schedule but still impacts our ability to rebook your slot.

  3. Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance

    • Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the appointment are fully refundable, with no penalties applied. This provides us ample time to reallocate resources and accommodate other clients.
